This video features the 2017 SSO Fellows Kim Falconer (flute), Joshua Oates (oboe), David McGregor (clarinet), Christopher Haycroft (bassoon) and Samuel Butler (percussion), performing Werner Baer's Three Short Sketches. Very little is known about the performance history of this piece, or even the exact date of composition (the library listing says "between 1951 and 1980). I found the hand-written score in the Symphonies Australia collection at the National Library of Australia, and was granted permission for performance at the festival through the Australian Music Centre.
