At the Wednesday lunchbreak concert for Out of the Shadows, we were privileged to have in the audience the composer George Dreyfus, who gave a small and as always entertaining speech about the composition which had been performed by members of the SSO Fellows. The speech references the more staid and conservative compositional voices in 1950s Melbourne, and also mentions the other great Jewish refugee presence in the city, Felix Werder.
