František Kovanic wrote the lyrics to the songs in the musical Prince Bettliegend, written in the Terezín/Theresienstadt Ghetto.

František Kovanic (also written Kowanitz) was born April 16, 1910. He was deported from Prague to Terezín/Theresienstadt on December 4, 1941 and to Auschwitz on September 28, 1944. He perished.  His wife and their 16-month-old daughter Honzulka, born June 1943 in the ghetto, were deported to Auschwitz in October and most likely murdered immediately upon arrival.
