Born in Prague in 1949, Ivan Bukovský is the winner of multiple European prizes, and his works can be found in public and private collections in the Czech Republic, Poland, Germany, Russia, Italy, South Korea, the United States, and Israel. 

Bukovský's paintings were used as a back drop for the performances of Jac Weinstein's tableau Mother Rachel and her children in the 'Out of the Shadows' festivals in Madison-Wisconsin, Leeds and Prague, 2016.
