Prague is one of Europe's key cultural centres. Prior to World War II, it had a large Jewish population, decimated during the Holocaust. Since the Velvet Revolution in 1989, the Jewish community has experienced a resurgence, and in once again a major middle-European Jewish centre. Prague is closely associated with Performing the Jewish Archive, as a research and performance hub.
