Simon Parmet composed and wrote the Swedish lyrics for Vår judiska sång (Our Jewish song) in 1930, and he dedicated the piece to the Jewish Choir Association in Helsinki. Parmet made also an orchestral arrangement for the piece. The lyrics were translated to Yiddish by his uncle Noach Oberman.
The piece was performed in Yiddish in the concert 'At the edge of the world: Jewish choral music from Australia, South Africa & Finland', 8 Aug 2017, which was part of the 'Out of the Shadows' festival in Sydney.
